At VIGO, we’re currently hiring on behalf of a reputable client within the Smart Buildings sector who are looking to appoint a Special Works Manager. This role is ideal for an experienced BMS professional who enjoys designing and delivering innovative engineering solutions that enhance system performance and energy efficiency. This is an opportunity to take ownership of specialist works projects from concept through to completion.
In this position, you will be responsible for designing, engineering, and delivering projects that upgrade and transform existing building systems into advanced, energy-efficient solutions.
Role Overview
As a Special Works Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality BMS projects, covering design, implementation, and commissioning. You will work both independently and collaboratively, contributing to technical delivery, refining engineering strategies, and supporting the ongoing growth of the department.
Key Responsibilities
Design and produce detailed BMS design documentation
Carry out site surveys to gather information for project design and planning
Develop and configure BMS software and graphics in line with approved technical submittals
Ensure all works comply with ISO standards and health and safety regulations
Manage project variations and support commercial discussions with customers
Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates and reports
The Ideal Candidate
Minimum of 4 years’ experience within the BMS industry
Proven background in the design, engineering, and commissioning of BMS solutions
Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider project team
Strong communication and organisational skills
Confident using Microsoft Office packages
Working knowledge of CAD software
Highly motivated with a customer-focused and solutions-driven approach
